Children work in pairs to write their own story and script, plan out a story board, and create their artwork. Then they use laptops, cameras and special software to explore various animation techniques and capture their footage. After filming, students work on the post-production process to add titles, transitions, sounds and bring their movie to life. Each class a new concept is introduced and practiced hands-on. Experienced animators can build on their previous skills to create timeless masterpieces of animation. Movies are available to take home. A strict non-violence policy is enforced.

Design your dream house, space station, or a building of your imagination! Architects need to take many factors into consideration when they design a building— function, scale, measurements, environment and materials. Our expert instructors guide students through hands-on activities to learn the basics of design, and then through planning and sketching stages of creating their buildings. Once they have a plan, students use computer technology to create a fully customized 3D rendering- including everything from color schemes to interior decorations. Then students create a digital photo tour of their creation to share with family and friends at home. Software used in class is available for free download (MAC and PC) for those who want to continue working on their projects at home.

Organizations today are continually being asked to provide more flexibility to their data consumers while reducing the impact on IT resources. With limited training budgets and non-intuitive end user tools, providing robust ad-hoc capabilities has been out of reach of most companies. Adding to the difficulty surrounding these type of user requests is that the high level information consumers often wish to report is stored in a mix multidimensional and/or relational data sources. In order to answer the growing demand and further increase user adoption, IBM Cognos has introduced Business Insight AdvancedSimply launch Business Insight Advanced and start authoring rich reports without any need for understanding the complexities of the underlying technology. Without user adoption, Business Intelligence implementations stagnate and over time, becoming a liability rather than an asset. Allowing technical users and IT staff to easily design reports that provide comprehensive and tactical analysis of the organization's key metrics is the primary factor in an implementation's success. One of the biggest pain points that we hear while interacting with our clients is that Query Studio, although an exceptional tool, does not have the technical capabilities needed to provide the strategic analysis that is key to a company's successful utilization of Cognos.
Grant your organization the flexibility to make better business decisions on a daily basis by allowing report writers to utilize the full spectrum of options available in IBM Cognos Report Studio.
Course Outline

When you try to draw a person or a face, do you get confused? Let’s figure that out. Learn how to mix colors with paint, and make ceramic clay animal. Last but not least, you will make a piece that looks like birds flying in the air, hanging from a ceiling wire.
Come to LACS on Saturday mornings and make four different projects with animals as the subject; human, “real” animals and imaginary! In each project you will be learning about basic principles of art while growing in ability to draw, paint, work with clay, and make a mobile.
Each Saturday session will include snack & discussion time while we look and think about master art works. What makes a piece of art “good”? How did the artist make it? Begin to understand what the artists are thinking about when they work!
Mrs. Andersen has taught art making to kids for more than 22 years. To see more about her teaching, go to ArtWaysAndMeans.com, or to see her paintings, see Loisandersenfineart.com

Millions of dollars are wasted every year on Business Intelligence implementations that fail to provide a clear strategic architecture to presenting corporate information for end user consumption. If the data is organized in a concise, consistent manner, and performs well, the project will be well received and accepted around the organization. In order to achieve this, a solid understanding of the IBM Cognos Framework Manager tool is necessary.
Based on a proven training curriculum, the Ironside Group will provide instructor-led classes that highlight the important steps to be considered during the design and implementation process of a Framework model.

One of the challenges facing information managers today is the need to inter-relate different sources and types of information. Understanding the structure and architecture of the data make the above-mentioned scenario possible; metadata is the means by which this happens. Whether it is an ERP system or an e-commerce system that needs to exchange data between proprietary applications, IBM Cognos Framework Manager is the correct application for organizing and reporting on inter-related disparate data sources.
Based on a proven training curriculum, the Ironside Group will provide instructor-led classes that highlight the important steps to be considered during the design and implementation process of your metadata model.
